The Imprints Orchestra was created as a side project to The Imprints to bring to life the moody cinematic songs of Willow Stahlut and Linden Lester.

Their 2015 release Unravelling is the first for The Imprints Orchestra and has been described as ‘delightfully reflective, introspective, and beautiful.’ Willow and Linden saw the need to create the orchestra project to capture the same feeling in a live setting. If you’re lucky enough to catch a live show it features extra string players, backing vocalists and percussionists and has a full sound with lush instrumentation, psychedelic textures, high energy drumming and dreamy vocals.
The way they paint the world of human emotion on ‘Unravelling’ is breathtaking. It is as though they are simultaneously surrealist painters and neuroscientists, activating both hemispheres of the brain in perfect harmony. If you are tired of ever-present guitar or keys as the dominant harmonic provider, explore this record and discover a refreshingly different sound.
